A week of the blahs
I'll admit it, I feel like I've been run over by a truck. These last seven days have had a few bright points, but mostly it's been a royal pain.
I guess I'll start with the greatest point. My son is god. :) I went to his parent teacher conference last night and his teacher was telling me how great he's doing. For those of you who don't know, Joe has a few problems (nothing major, just a bit of low tone and that he needs a bit more of the one on one teaching, so he's in a special education class), but he really seems to be coming into his own this year. He's really becoming a little social butterfly, which I'm so happy to hear. He doesn't enjoy art to much, but he is a computer junkie (no big surprise there). I think next year, we are going to start working to get him into a mainstream class.
I guess another bright point this week, is that I'm very excited about a new knitting project that I have lined up. I was going to make a grandmother a bag, but after I ordered the pattern, I found out that she didn't need it anymore. But since I already ordered the pattern, I decided to make it for myself. I have the yarn and the needles, now I'm just waiting on the pattern. I'll post a picture of what I'm making at the colors that I chose later.
I guess the reason that I feel like crud, has to do with a few things. 1. Not enough sleep (can't blame that one anyone else but me) 2. Joe has a cold and Mandy is getting a runny nose 3. Knowing that when Mandy gets a runny nose, that she's probably going to get an ear infection and 4. Not being able to take my kids to the doctor because Tony's boss is a lying sack of poo. Why do I say this?, I hear you ask. Well, I found out last week that Tony's boss hasn't been paying into our medical benefits for 9 weeks, and because of this, they were cancelled. After I ruffled some feathers, Tony's boss called him and said that he was running a check down to the union right now to take care of everything. Well, we have now come to realize that besides not paying into the benefits, he hasn't been paying into the other funds either. And that check that he brought to the union was to cover the 401-k not our benefits. So here I sit, praying that the benefit problem is taken care of today (without Tony being laid off that is) and that this guy hasn't decided to be a major schmuck and play games with the IRS and the money that he is supposedly taking out for taxes. Yep, the fun continues.
